House of Representatives Approves American Health Care Act

House of Representatives Approves American Health Care Act

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act, which will now be referred to the United States Senate.

Daniel Garza, the President of The LIBRE Initiative, released the following statement:

“It is clear that Obamacare is not working. Millions of uninsured American currently face large and growing fines due to their failure to purchase insurance at inflated prices. Millions have no choice of insurer, because this unsustainable system has discouraged insurance providers from even offering policies in the county where they reside. Millions more have no realistic choice except the government-run Medicaid program, which delivers inferior care, at a growing cost to taxpayers. Clearly, reform is needed.

Now that the House has acted, the American Health Care Act will be considered in the Senate, to curb excess regulations that limit consumer choice, so insurers compete to satisfy consumers. Additionally, it is now the responsibility of the Senate to improve on the House version, and work to deliver on patient-centered reforms that reduce health care costs and deliver on the original promises of Obamacare.”
